This dramatic sun-drenched cover was
inspired by the 7/16/50 story, "Survivor," wherein
The Spirit is handcuffed to a murderer named Tate
following an airline crash in the desert near Utah's Great Salt
Lake. The story and cover scene was parodied by Jules Feiffer
in his 12/31/50 pastiche. This painting formed the wraparound
cover to Spirit Magazine #28. Signed by Will Eisner
in the lower right corner and dated 1981. Measures 26" wide
x 18.75" high. Will warm the coldest room.
Price:
$6,000.
