The Spirit runs
through a frame chased by the ghostly visage of Miss Eden
in this eerie cover to The Spirit #17, based on
the 5/11/47 story, "The Fortune." The top of this Will
Eisner original is blank because the comic book logo was
dropped in mechanically. The printed color cover is quite striking,
particularly the transparency of the ghostly figure. If it were
our original, we would frame the original next to the printed
cover in a double aperture mat. Selecting a frame that paralleled
the frame in the image would add a truly eerie symmetry. Signed
and dated ('86) in lower left corner. 9.75" wide x 14.5"
